Inventory Overview

This page provides a quick overview of Formfactories's inventory management system.

Adding an Item

To begin, add an item by clicking the plus-shaped Add button at the bottom right.

You may also include information about the item's stock.

  • Current Stock: The number of the item you currently have.
  • Minimum Stock: The minimum count before the item is marked as needing to be restocked.
  • Maximum Stock: The count to which the item should be restocked to.

Click Create New Item once you have filled in the details. These can always be edited after.

Item Categories

Items can be organized into categories. For example, you might want a category for all of your different filaments. To create a category, hover over the plus-shaped Add button from before, and instead of clicking on it, click on the Edit Categories button that appears right above it.

Here, you may add new categories, edit existing ones, and delete ones you no longer need. Click + New Category to add a new category to the list. Click Save to lock in the changes, and your new category will appear at the top of the Inventory menu.

Clicking on a category at the top of the screen will select that category, and items that aren't in that category will be hidden. Clicking the category again will deselect it. You can select multiple categories at once to view items from multiple categories.

Restock Alerts

Formfactories also supports notifying certain staff when an item needs to be restocked, when an item's current stock falls below its minimum stock. Navigate to Settings > Staff & Teams and create a new team where restocking notifications should be sent to. See Staff & Teams for how to create a team.

Add any staff members who should be notified for restock warnings to the new team. Then, navigate to Settings > General > Inventory, and add the new team to Teams to Notify of Needed Restock.

From now on, whenever an item needs to be restocked, that team will receive notifications within Formfactories about which item needs to be restocked, and how many of that item should be purchased.
