Project Dashboards

The dashboard views in Formfactories are designed to help you quickly find what you’re looking for. To begin, by default, you will see the projectsA collection of parts, quantities, materials, job files, client information, and pricing (if applicable). dashboard, which displays all projects in your system. Parts can then be found within each project. There is a view that will show you all parts across all projects, but it is not the default view, and this page will mainly assume you're looking at the projects.

  • Color Coding:
    • 🟩 Green: All parts fully produced and counted.
    • 🟨 Yellow: Partial progressβ€”some parts produced/counting started.
    • πŸŸ₯ Red: No parts produced or counted yet.

Dashboard Layouts

Edit Dashboard Buttons

At the top of the dashboard, you’ll see a series of buttons such as Status, Production, Calendar, and others. These buttons change the entire layout of the dashboard.

Directly beneath them are filters like Action Needed, which refine what is shown without switching layouts.

Status Layout

Displays all non-archived projects, grouped by their current status:

  • New
  • Quoted
  • In Production
  • Completed

Production Layout

Shows only projects with the In Production status.
These are sorted by the timestamp when they entered production:

  • Newest projects appear at the top-left
  • Oldest appear at the bottom-right

Calendar Layout

Displays projects and models by due date.

Materials Layout

Groups projects and models based on materials used.

Note: If a project contains models with multiple materials, it will appear under each relevant material.

Machines Layout

Groups projects by the machines required to produce the parts.
This information comes from the Job File assigned to each model.

If a model hasn't been sliced or assigned to a machine yet, it appears under "Unknown Printer". This is a useful way to find unsliced models.

Assigned Layout

Shows only the projects that have been assigned to you, organized by your assigned role (e.g., Sales, Production, Customer Service).

For best results, use Settings > General > Project Roles to assign roles systematically.

Abandoned Carts Layout

Displays projects where a non-staff user started a project but left before submitting it.

Organization Layout

Groups projects based on their associated organization.

More Dropdown

Displays any views that aren't pinned to the top.
Use the Edit button (top-right corner) to customize which views are pinned.

Dashboard Filters

The second row on the dashboard contains filters that help narrow your results.

Toggle between displaying:

  • Entire Projects
  • All Models within those projects

Selecting Models can be more detailed and expansive.

Action Needed Filter

Filter projects based on the next required action.

Slicing

Shows projects with models that:

  • Do not have an associated Job File
  • Have not been sliced
  • Are not yet printing or counted

Use this to find parts that need slicing.

Printing

Shows projects with models that:

  • Have been sliced
  • Are ready to print but haven't started

Counting

Displays models that are currently printing but haven't been counted yet.
This filter is helpful during post-printing workflows like harvesting parts.

Counted

Shows projects where all models have been counted.
These often require further steps like post-processing or quality control.

Materials Filter

Filters projects based on materials required, grouped by technology.

Machines Filter

Filters based on the machines assigned to each model via their Job File.
Only applicable to sliced models.

To-do Filter

Filters projects that have associated to‑do items.

When saving, you can:

  • Give the view a custom name
  • Choose whether to pin it to the top
  • Leave it in the More dropdown from the Layouts row

Found at the far right of the filter row, this dropdown lets you fully customize your dashboard layout and filters

  • Toggle project statuses
  • Change how items are grouped (columns vs. rows)
  • Adjust sort order
  • Choose between horizontal or vertical layouts

Spacebar Hotkey

The spacebar hotkey allows you to open a project in a pop-up for quick editing without navigating away from the dashboard.

  • Hover your cursor over a project card
  • Press the spacebar to open the project in a pop-up
  • Click outside the pop-up or press spacebar again to close it (if not typing in a text field)
